makes a correlation matrix from a single number,
vars\*vars matrix, vars\*vars vector, or a vars\*(vars-1)/2 vector.

the correlations among the variables (can be a single number, vars\*vars matrix, vars\*vars vector, or a vars\*(vars-1)/2 vector)
